Bhadrapur Airport

Bhadrapur Airport, officially known as Chandragadhi Airport, is a domestic airport in Jhapa District, Koshi Province, eastern Nepal. With the IATA code BDP and ICAO code VNCG, it serves as an important air gateway to eastern Nepal and is particularly useful for travelers heading toward the Kanchenjunga region.

The airport is located near Bhadrapur and Chandragadhi and provides air connections with Kathmandu. For trekkers traveling to Kanchenjunga, flying from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur is one of the main ways to shorten the overland journey toward Taplejung and the eastern Himalayas.

After arriving at Bhadrapur, trekkers generally continue by private vehicle or other road transportation toward Ilam, Phidim and Taplejung, depending on their itinerary and road conditions. Bhadrapur therefore functions as an important transportation starting point for journeys into the remote Kanchenjunga trekking region.
